Soccer Field Synthetic Grass: Project Planning, Installation and Cost

Planning a football pitch with synthetic grass involves more than choosing a turf roll. Importers, sports contractors and project owners need to align the turf specification with the field brief, site base, drainage plan, system components, delivery scope and local installation budget. Sunithgrass manufactures artificial turf and produces its own PE and PP yarn. This guide explains which project inputs help buyers compare supply quotations and prepare a clearer RFQ. Local site design and installation are arranged by the project team; when an order ships, we remind customers of practical handling and laying precautions.

Start with the Project Brief, Not a Generic Turf Label

“Soccer field synthetic grass” describes an application, not one fixed construction. A useful RFQ separates the turf specification from requirements for the complete installed field. This gives suppliers a comparable brief and helps the project team identify what belongs in the turf offer versus local civil work.

Identify the intended use and project requirements

Tell us whether the field is intended for training, school or community use, or commercial rental. Include any client, league or competition specification. Usage pattern and site conditions help the project designer define the system; a product description alone does not establish compliance with a competition standard.

Check pile height, stitch rate, Dtex and backing against SM-58 options

SM-58 is Sunithgrass’s football turf model. Its available combinations span 40–50 mm pile height, 16–20 tufts per 10 cm and 6,000–10,000 Dtex, with M-shaped fibers, three blended tones and double-layer black SBR backing. These are ranges across multiple specifications, not one fixed SKU. We review the requested combination against the project brief and confirm it in the quotation.

If a project requires measurements, we can test pile height, pile weight and density and provide a result sheet. We do not have existing SM-58 test reports; third-party testing can be discussed for an agreed scope and fee.

Plan the Football Turf System for the Site

Synthetic turf is one component of a field system. Site preparation, levels, drainage, perimeter details, system components and installation all affect the finished field. We review the turf requirements against the brief; the local designer and contractor define site-specific civil work.

Base preparation and drainage in Southeast Asia

Before ordering, record field dimensions, existing ground conditions, proposed base layers, levels and falls, drainage outlets and perimeter details. For Southeast Asian projects, local rainfall, humidity and sun exposure are site inputs for the project designer; they do not establish that one turf specification suits every location. These details help scope civil work and let us quote the turf supply accurately.

All Sunithgrass turf backings have drainage holes intended to let rainwater pass through the backing. This describes the backing feature. The base, levels, falls and drainage outlets determine how water is managed across the site; we do not have drainage-test data or a field drainage result to quote. Sunithgrass adds anti-aging agents during yarn production, but no quantified UV-resistance or service-life result is claimed here.

Infill or non-infill? Compare the project requirements

Sunithgrass supplies football turf in infill and non-infill configurations. We can also supply infill sand and shock pads when requested; some buyers include these components in the turf order, while others source them locally. Neither configuration is universally right for every project. Compare the project specification, system design, maintenance plan and included components.

For a quote, tell us whether the project calls for infill, a shock pad, both or neither, and share any system performance documents. We confirm the supply scope in the quotation; the project designer or local contractor approves the site-specific system and installation.

Artificial Grass Football Field Cost: What Drives the Budget?

There is no single price for an artificial grass football field. The turf quotation depends on the selected SM-58 specification, total area, roll format, backing, colour or OEM requirements, packaging and destination. A complete project budget may also include base preparation, drainage, infill, shock pad, freight, local handling and installation. We quote the confirmed turf supply scope and destination; local contractors estimate site and installation costs.

Compare turf supply costs with total installed project costs

When comparing offers, check whether each quote covers turf only or includes other system components. Compare the quantity basis, roll dimensions, packaging, delivery terms and optional components. A turf-only quotation is not directly comparable with a complete field-system or installation budget.

We prepare the turf quote from the project dimensions, requested SM-58 specification and destination port. Container loading and freight depend on the port and agreed trade terms. The local contractor estimates base, drainage and installation costs.

Information to include in an SM-58 RFQ

Send us:

  • destination country and delivery port or address;
  • field dimensions, estimated turf area and a layout drawing if available;
  • intended use and any project specification;
  • target pile height, stitch rate/density, and pile weight or Dtex requirement;
  • backing, colour and roll-format requirements;
  • infill/non-infill preference and whether a shock pad or sand is required;
  • packaging or private-label requirements;
  • target sample approval and delivery schedule.

We check the requested yarn availability, confirm the SM-58 combinations that match the brief, and quote the agreed product and export terms. A stocked sample can be dispatched on the day of the request; a custom sample generally takes 3 days to prepare. An order of approximately 800 m² may be possible when the required yarn is available. If it is not in stock, we review MOQ against the requested yarn and production requirements.

Artificial Turf Football Field Installation: What to Plan Before Ordering

Coordinate roll layout, seams, packaging and delivery

SM-58 rolls are generally supplied in 2 m or 4 m widths. We confirm the roll format and requested length for each order; the roll diameter is estimated more accurately after production. We pack turf in woven bags to protect it from rain and abrasion during handling. Container loading and freight are arranged according to the destination port and agreed trade terms.

Standard orders generally take 7–15 days to produce; OEM orders generally take 12–20 days, depending on requirements and quantity. Before production, the buyer’s local installer uses the field layout and project specification to plan roll orientation, seams and anchoring.

Supplier guidance at dispatch

Customers arrange site preparation and installation with their local teams. When the order ships, we remind customers of practical handling and laying precautions, including steps to avoid an uneven finished surface. Sunithgrass supplies and sells the turf; local construction remains with the customer’s contractor.

FAQs

What information should I provide for a soccer turf quote?

Send the project country, field dimensions and area, intended use, requested pile height, stitch rate/density, Dtex or pile weight, backing, roll format, infill/non-infill preference, shock pad or sand needs, packaging requirements and target schedule. Attach a layout or project specification when available.

What is the MOQ for SM-58 football turf?

An order of approximately 800 m² may be possible when the requested yarn is available. If it is not in stock, we review MOQ against the requested yarn and production requirements.

What are the production lead times for standard and OEM orders?

Standard orders generally take 7–15 days to produce. OEM orders generally take 12–20 days. Timing depends on order requirements and quantity; we confirm the schedule with the quotation.

What pile height and Dtex options are available for SM-58?

SM-58 options span 40–50 mm pile height and 6,000–10,000 Dtex across multiple specifications. We confirm the selected combination in the quotation.

Does the turf quotation include the base, drainage and installation?

The quotation covers the agreed supply scope. Base construction, site drainage and local installation are arranged by the project team unless specifically included in the written offer. Shock pads or infill can be quoted when requested.

Can I choose an infill or non-infill system?

Yes. We supply SM-58 football turf in infill and non-infill configurations. Infill sand and shock pads can also be supplied on request, or buyers may source them locally. Share the project brief so we can confirm the requested supply scope.

How is artificial grass football field cost calculated?

The turf quotation depends on specification, area, roll format, backing, colour or OEM requirements, packaging and destination. Total installed project costs may also include base, drainage, system components, freight and local installation. Send the field dimensions and delivery port for a scoped quotation.

Does Sunithgrass install football turf in Southeast Asia?
